Seal Safari: Join an exciting boat trip out in the Wadden Sea National Park to one of the large seal banks and experience the seals up close as they sunbathe, take a dip or look curiously at us. We sail with the ferry from Rømø to Herring and from here with wooden cuts out to the seals’ whereabouts, where they rest during the low tide period, precisely at the time we are in the area.
The seal is the largest predator in the Wadden Sea National Park, where a large stock of spotted seal is found. With the wooden ship Rosa Paluka, there are good opportunities to sail close to the sandbanks without disturbing the seals as they sunbathe or wait in the water for the opportunity for a rest. A truly sustainable experience in UNESCO’s World Heritage.
On the trip out to the seals we fish with mini-trawls for crabs, shrimp, oysters, starfish and small fish, and there is an opportunity to see, touch and taste the marine animals – a hit for children and adults alike. We cannot provide a seal guarantee, but experience shows we have seals on 95% of the trips. If we are lucky, we also see guinea pigs and always lots of waterfowl.
Black Safari® offers the only boat trips in the Wadden Sea.
